Dora Park is situated between the lower Dora plains and upper plateau, with long-term changes caused by the River Dora still evident today. The area was fairly rural until the mid-nineteenth century and relied on an agricultural-manufacturing economy, while housing mainly consisted of farmsteads scattered throughout the local region.
